We have a lot of clients who come into our studio with various requests. A recent one has been to create minimalist monotone interior designs. While it may look like easier to do it, we can assure you that’s nothing short of a task. This is similar to creating a no make up look on skin, so here we are going to give you a few design hacks in order to achieve these. These are statement-y monotone designs that look classy and beautiful at the same time. One of the key elements that we need to think about is choosing a color that is timeless; not just something you’re currently obsessed with.
To successfully achieve a stellar monotone design for your house , you must know how to use patterns, layers, and different textures to create a striking space . You need to make sure that your chosen color stays as the focal point of the room and not get lost in a sea of other colors or different textures.
I would try to achieve balance and harmony in this case even with items of similar color and utilizing congruent tones. Firstly, we need to decide what is the main focal point of the room, i.e. the bed ? If it is then choose drapes, bedcover and pillows in sage green , that have a self design for example but sheer go for a neutral ivory or a nude shade . Secondly, I would highly recommend a wallpaper in a slightly darker tone of the same sage green as background for some wonderful family portraits or travel pics of family vacations while rest of the walls are either ivory / extremely light sage green ! This would provide contrast without taking away the essence from the core design. Next we need to curate decor in similar shades , we could opt for 3D luxurious textured candles at various heights , a bubble candle or a concentric upside down arch candle , to add a little bit of contrast add an eggwhite matte vase with sage green leaves bunch . We should also consider some objects made of glass pieces to add more depth to the overall look.
